· Steps to add SATA drivers to the CD. 1) Copy all the directories and files from the Windows XP CD to a temporary folder (these guidelines will use c:\xpcd) 2) Download the Floppy Configuration Utility from Intel.com. 3) Extract all the files from the downloaded file.
· Can you install SATA drivers from a USB drive or CD/DVD? We have a Dimension 8400 with Windows XP and we're pondering the move to Vista. We have the SATA hard drive and the Intel 82801FR control in AHCI mode (not RAID).
· Step 3. Using it. 1. Start your PC, and login. 2. If needed install the provided driver from the software CD or wait for Windows to download and install the drivers automatically. 3. Go to "Computer" and you can now see your newly install Disc Drive.
